Veterinarian
Accentuate Staffing is partnering with a leading animal health research company who is hiring for an Associate/Research Veterinarian. This is a direct hire opportunity, offering competitive pay and comprehensive benefits, working onsite. The ideal candidate has a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, hands-on experience with swine health care, and strong surgical and clinical skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide routine veterinary care for pigs, ensuring compliance with USDA and FDA standards.
- Perform medical procedures, including health checks, disease testing, and administration of medications.
- Deliver surgical and post-operative care, including abdominal and general procedures.
- Maintain detailed health, treatment, and regulatory records in accordance with SOPs.
- Conduct site activities including sample collection, observation of animal behavior, and euthanasia when required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold facility standards and ensure animal welfare.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree with 2–5+ years of veterinary practice experience with large animals.
- Proven experience providing veterinary care specifically to pigs, for at least one year.
- Skilled in conducting medical tests, collecting samples, and performing routine treatments.
- Proficiency in surgical techniques, including abdominal procedures and caesarean sections.
- Licensed or eligible for state veterinary licensure, USDA Level II Accreditation, and DEA License.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 75 lbs, carrying 50 lbs, and pushing/pulling 200 lbs on wheels.
