Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Direct Hire Staff Accountant for our Technology Client in Cary, NC.  This is a very stable company with excellent benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists and/or independently completes full cycle accounting functions as assigned such as revenue, software capitalization, cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payable, accrued expenses, and payroll.
  • Prepares journal entries, workpapers, and account reconciliations for entry level to complex accounting matters.
  • Researches and corrects account discrepancies.
  • Reviews transactions to assure conformance to Company policies; examines fiscal source documents for completeness, mathematical accuracy, proper authorization where applicable, sufficiency of information for purpose, and proper general ledger coding.
  • Assists with the evaluation and documentation of internal controls.
  • Prepares property tax returns and other recurring audit, tax or regulatory compliance schedules or reports as assigned.
  • Prepares periodic reporting and analysis for assigned accounting areas.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business discipline with major/concentration in accounting is required; master’s degree is desirable.
  • CPA candidate is highly desirable (Preference given to candidates already possessing their CPA license)
  • 2+ years of related experience is required; preference given to candidates with more than 2 years and mix of public and corporate accounting experience.
  • Exposure to Revenue Recognition, Capitalization, and interim/year end Audit is highly preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite, Oracle Financials or similar ERP/general ledger software (e.g. SAP, MS Dynamics, etc.) is preferred.
  • Experience with SAGE Fixed Asset Software is desirable, but not required.
  • Experience with Ultimate Software’s UltiPro (payroll) is desirable, but not required.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills (proficient with Lookups, Pivot Tables, IF/THEN statements, and other moderately complex functions).
  • Financial modeling skills (e.g. ability to reverse engineer a spreadsheet or model, ability to organize/analyze large volumes of data in Excel, clearly document process, source of data, conclusions, etc.)
