Accentuate Staffing is currently seeking a skilled Staff Accountant for a client in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing complex financial data, managing accounting tasks, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. This is a permanent position with a focus on general accounting, financial analysis, and reconciliation.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the chart of accounts and reconcile asset, liability, and equity accounts monthly.
  • Manage daily collections and cash flow to ensure adequate funds availability.
  • Perform month-end closing activities, including the preparation and review of reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Generate, analyze, and communicate financial data, comparing actual performance against budgeted figures.
  • Forecast short and long-range cash requirements to support financial planning.
  • Prepare various financial reports and participate in ad hoc projects as required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness, including suggesting solutions to strengthen internal controls.
  • Manage client billing activities, including preparing and auditing client invoices in compliance with company policies and client billing guidelines.
  • Analyze client aging reports, follow up on receipts, and perform monthly reconciliations of client accounts.
  • Perform tasks such as managing petty cash, monthly accruals, and bank reconciliations.
  • Update client information in the master billing files; researching and responds to inquiries relating to client billing.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in cash collection and accounts receivable management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in the use of accounting systems and software.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deliverables and deadlines.
  • Deep understanding of GAAP and thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, and research skills.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
