Responsibilities:

• Assists with full cycle accounting functions as assigned such as cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payable, and accrued expenses
• Prepares journal entries, workpapers, and account reconciliations
• Researches and corrects account discrepancies
• Reviews transactions to assure conformance to Company policies; examines fiscal source documents for completeness, mathematical accuracy, proper authorization where applicable, sufficiency of information for purpose, and proper general ledger coding
• Assists with the evaluation and documentation of internal controls
• Prepares property tax returns and other recurring audit, tax or regulatory compliance schedules or reports
• Assists with or independently performs annual fixed asset inventories
• Prepares periodic reporting and analysis for assigned accounting areas
• Continuously improves processes and procedures for assigned accounting areas
• May assist with or independently prepare bi-weekly payroll and associated regulatory reporting
• Number of reclassifications required to correct G/L, department and/or activity coding
• Ensure vendors are paid within term

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business discipline with major/concentration in accounting is required; master’s degree is desirable.
• CPA or CPA candidate is desirable, but not required
• 2+ years of related experience is required
• Exposure to Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, and/or Payroll is highly preferred
• Experience with Oracle Financials or similar ERP/general ledger software is required
• Experience with SAGE Fixed Asset Software is desirable, but not required
• Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls
• Intermediate Excel skills (proficient with Lookups, Pivot Tables, IF/THEN statements, and other moderately complex functions)
