Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Staff/Senior Accountant for our Software Client in Roxboro, NC.  This is a Direct Hire opportunity.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate, support and lead in all relevant finance and related functions including A/R, A/P, reconciliations, inventory audits, collections, software licensing, purchasing, payroll, payroll taxes, sales taxes, HR compliance, benefits management, budgeting, accruals, insurance and internal reporting.
  • Contribute to the execution of the above tasks as needed.
  • Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing financial information and trends.
  • Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting data.
  • Participate in various projects as needed, including the design, execution and implementation phases. Projects will be constantly changing, but examples would include implementing an inventory control and budget process; researching, selecting and implementing an ERP system, or reviewing current processes and tools for software license management in order to ensure sufficient control.
  • Maintain financial security by establishing, following and monitoring internal controls alerting Accounting Manager of weaknesses.
  • Document financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents entered by others.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • An advanced level of skill with Excel
  • Familiarity with accounting software, specifically QuickBooks
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and IRC
  • Experience designing and implementing processes and policies related to the accounting function
  • The ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to avoid and detect mistakes
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in a relevant accounting role
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required
  • Functional knowledge of ERP systems and implementation
  • CPA License preferred
  • A master’s degree in accounting is preferred
