Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for Senior Payroll, Commissions & Reporting Analyst for a well-established company headquartered in Cary.

We are looking for more than the typical Payroll Specialist due to most employees being paid on an incentive compensation plan. We need an experienced Excel user with intermediate to advanced skills (nested functions, lookups, pivot tables and Power Query), who can work with a large amount of data, and can produce ad hoc reports.

Responsibilities:

Payroll

  • Ensure accuracy of each store’s payroll recordkeeping spreadsheet.
  • Input updates based on new hires, terminations, transfers and pay changes.
  • On a weekly basis, process payroll for ~250 employees
  • Resolve any timesheet discrepancies with Managers.
  • Compile employee inputs into a master Excel data sheet.
  • Payroll is calculated in a complex spreadsheet, based on multi-variable commission-based pay plans.
  • Finalized pay data is imported to ADP Workforce Now for processing.
  • Create general ledger entry and work with accounting manager to ensure accurate posting.
  • Ensure timely resolution of payroll issues

Other HR/Payroll Functions

  • Update all personnel changes (e.g. pay plan changes, transfers, terminations, etc.).
  • Maintain active/inactive employee roster and PTO records
  • Record and properly handle employee advances and payroll deductions.
  • Process garnishments and respond to inquiries with regard to employees’ status.
  • Maintain employee confidentiality.
  • Serve as backup in the absence of the HR Manager.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Generate sales and operation reports each morning
  • Provide ad hoc compensation information and payroll analytics
  • Produce ad hoc and regular reporting, using our point-of-sale system (VAST) or SQL

Requirements:

  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills, including nested formulas, lookups, pivot tables and Power Query
  • Associates Degree
  • Quick ability to customize formulas for various compensation plans
  • Payroll experience is preferred
  • Experience using ADP Workforce Now is preferred
  • Strong communication skills – comfortable resolving issues via phone and email
  • Basic SQL skills are a plus (not required)
