Accentuate Staffing is looking for a Senior level Electromechanical Engineer will leverage their mechanical, electrical and software design knowledge and experience to drive design improvements and create innovative new concepts.

The ideal candidate has experience designing and analyzing mechatronic systems, enjoys analytical problem solving and possesses practical knowledge of electrical and mechanical design, fabrication, assembly and rapid prototyping.

Responsibilities:

  • A lead contributor for engineering development. Is part of a multi disciplined development agile team managing the technical performance of the program meeting cost and schedule requirements including subcontracted elements.
  • Design and Develop Innovative drive systems, electromechanical assemblies, control electronics and software to power electronics as well as safety systems to keep humans safe as they work with innovative electric systems.
  • Design and develop custom electromechanical systems with a cross sector team, including translating stages, rotary motion, multi-link positioners, sensors, servos, actuators, etc.
  • Examine, prepare and verify technical drawings and specifications of electrical systems, to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
  • Execute machine design projects, electromechanical systems, mechanical linkages, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Work in the design, selection, analysis, system integration, and testing of systems, sensors, actuators, controllers, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and electromechanical systems, including conceptual design, detailed design, testing, validation, and product implementation.
  • Design, develop, or implement control circuits or algorithms for electromechanical systems.
  • Coordinates requirements development, hardware/software design, verification, and validation activities. Ensures that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test and sustainment of products for our customers and is in compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Serves as a knowledge resource and SME for other engineers.
  • Routinely serve leadership roles with other engineers, designers, Applications, Sales and Manufacturing personnel to complete design projects.  You will communicate with managers, Manufacturing and Sales staff concerning your design projects.
  • Leads and or assists with the creation of DFMEA’s for new product designs
  • Proactively develop and protect intellectual property through the use of patent research, non-disclosure agreements, patent applications and other means as required.
  • Be responsible for tracking the cost of more complex assemblies utilizing DFA and DFM techniques to minimize cost where ever possible.
  • Able to support manufacturing or quality with technical questions on existing product build issues, as well as more complex customer quality issues that require in depth knowledge of company products and technical investigations.
  • Create and submit design verification plans or requests, coordinate the testing of prototypes to ensure adherence to functional specifications, and evaluate data based on physical testing and simulation.
  • Work with component suppliers, manufacturers, outside labs and other service providers as needed to assure the most cost effective, robust designs are implemented

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated high level of proactive written and verbal communication across a virtual team environment
  • Demonstrated track record of innovation, proactive intellectual property activities such as competitor research, reverse engineering and monitoring.
  • Established background in EV Development, Robotics or Electromechanical Systems
  • SolidWorks or similar CAD experience and understanding of best practices for part design, advanced assemblies, complex configuration management
  • BS in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience with design of rotary and linear gear systems for electromechanical actuators used in motion control applications.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in mechanical engineering in a product design and manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent experience with design and analysis of geared actuator systems with rotary and linear gear reduction mechanisms.
  • Able to initiate creation of new design/analysis standards
  • Has excellent understanding of project workflows and can manage coordination of multiple component deliveries with varying lead times and complexities
  • Has excellent understanding of lean practices and agile methodologies
  • Able to train others on complex topics (i.e., product performance, analysis methods, lessons learned)
  • Able to lead DFMEAs
