Accentuate Staffing is assisting a well-established distributor in Raleigh who is seeking a hands-on Shipping/Receiving Lead to join their 2nd shift team working 10am-7pm Monday-Friday. This is a contract-hire opportunity leading up to 4 warehouse personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and support a team of 4 associates on the 2nd shift.
- Oversee all shipping and receiving operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with safety standards.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including cherry picker, reach, and sit-down forklifts.
- Handle and prepare HAZMAT shipments (welding gas, propane, compression gas).
- Utilize shipping software such as P21, Freight Edge, and Quick Ship to manage orders and shipments.
- Coordinate with carriers, internal departments, and team members to resolve issues and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and ensure all materials are properly labeled and stored.
- Promote and uphold a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
Requirements:
- Previous shipping, receiving, and leadership experience required
- Proficiency with FedEx shipping systems and common freight/shipping software.
- Forklift experience (cherry picker, reach, sit-down) required; certification preferred.
- Experience handling or shipping HAZMAT materials is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
