Accentuate Staffing is recruiting for a Senior HR Generalist to join a client in Wilson, NC.  This role will coordinate Human Resource activities for the hourly employees in the plants including benefits, payroll, recruiting, unemployment claims, compliance, and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and hire hourly employees for the leaf processing plant, office, and storages.
  • Coordinate and manage hourly employee orientations and training and maintain records.
  • Oversee HR Administrative personnel activities and productivity.
  • Assist and coordinate the call-in and layoff activities for seasonal employees.
  • Assist the HR Manager with staff recruiting on-boarding and benefits as needed.
  • Ensure information is accurately entered and maintained in the HRIS.
  • Assist with time and attendance system and support the payroll processing.
  • Assist in the administration and consistent application of the collective bargaining agreement, including investigation and response to grievances.
  • Ensure employment records are maintained on all employees and provide local and corporate management with reports as required.
  • Administer hourly benefit plans and assist with staff benefits in preparing and communicating information to employees.
  • Assist with annual open enrollment process.
  • Strong Excel background for HRIS data accuracy
  • Coordinate Leave of Absence programs and ensures compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Assist with the day-to-day safety activities for the facilities.
  • Assist the HR Manager in ensuring compliance with all Company employment policies as well state and federal employment laws.
  • Maintain employee confidence by keeping compensation and benefits information confidential.
  • Participate and assist in special projects with the HR Manager.
  • Supervise 1-2 employees

 

Requirements:

  • Strong overall knowledge of HR roles and functions
  • Good knowledge of Company time and attendance and payroll systems
  • Strong computer skills (word, excel, Microsoft, etc.)
  • Bachelors or associate degree in HR Management, Business, or related field
  • 5 years’ experience in HR and Payroll operations
  • 1-3 years in a supervisory role
  • Union Experience is highly desirable
  • Good overall knowledge of state and federal employment laws
