
EHS Specialist
Accentuate Staffing is assisting a leading print manufacturing company in the Morrisville, NC area with hiring an EHS Specialist to join their team. This is a direct hire opportunity offering excellent benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations and applicable state safety requirements
- Conduct routine safety inspections, workplace audits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses throughout the facility
- Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and near-miss events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Track, document, and follow up on safety-related corrective actions to ensure completion
- Provide safety training on topics such as PPE, machine safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), hazard communication, and emergency procedures
- Promote and monitor proper PPE usage throughout the facility
- Maintain OSHA logs, safety records, training documentation, SDS files, and other required EH&S records
- Support workers’ compensation reporting and injury case management processes
- Analyze safety trends and recommend improvements to reduce workplace incidents
- Coordinate annual hearing conservation and audiometric testing programs
- Assist with safety committee activities and employee engagement initiatives
- Deliver safety communications through toolbox talks, signage, and awareness campaigns
- Partner with leadership and other company locations to maintain consistency in safety practices
- Support safety inspections, audits, and regulatory visits as needed
- Manage and monitor first aid supply inventories
Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, or a related field; equivalent manufacturing safety experience will also be considered
- 1-3 years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, machine guarding, hazard communication, and lockout/tagout procedures
- Strong organizational, documentation, and recordkeeping abilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work directly on the manufacturing floor and engage with employees at all levels of the organization
- Experience maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and safety documentation preferred
- OSHA 30-Hour certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Familiarity with ergonomics, contractor safety programs, and workplace safety audits is a plus
