Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join an established company in the Cary area. This position oversees the day-to-day accounting transactions across multiple companies in the organization. Duties include ensuring the accuracy and consistency of data for accounts payable, accounts receivable and the general ledger, while assisting in report generation and recommending processes for improving the financial procedures and policies.
Responsibilities:
• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
• Establish and maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
• Coordinate and ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
• Inventory
• Prepaid Expenses
• A/R and A/P Aging
• Intercompany Transfers
• Accrued Expenses
• Fixed and Intangible Asset Management
• Maintain an orderly asset filing system
• Reconcile to general ledger
• Calculate and record depreciation and amortization
• Calculate commissions and royalties and ensure timely payment per contracts
• Work closely with Accounting Specialist to maintain and reconcile bank accounts, A/P and A/R
• Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
• Prepare financial and operating metrics, including budget to actual variances and report on material differences
• Prepare and distribute Cost Center Statements to department heads and staff
• Invoice strategic partners for contractual expenses and provide supporting detail as required
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a business-related field
• 5-7 years of experience with good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
• Advanced MS Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookups), MS PowerPoint (charts, graphs)
• Familiarity with accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks, MS Dynamics AX, Oracle, SAP)
