
Senior Accountant
Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join a growing team that currently provides accounting and compliance services to start-up/early stage companies. The Senior Accountant will manage a portfolio if accounting and compliance engagements.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise in both GAAP accounting and grant accounting standards.
- Provide full-service accounting support for small and medium-sized businesses.
- Review journal entries and financial reports prepared by Staff Accountants.
- Prepare depreciation schedules, accrued revenue, journal entries, and other schedules.
- Ensure client’s internal controls are implemented correctly and operating as intended.
- Provide monthly financial reports and analysis to clients.
- Support Clients’ government grant accounting reporting needs.
- Guide clients through the process to draw funds from awarding agencies.
- Guide clients in the preparation of their Accounting Policies & Procedures Manuals.
- Support clients through financial statement and regulatory audits.
- Contribute to educational resources and professional development opportunities to facilitate continual professional growth within the Accounting team.

- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of the steps in the monthly accounting cycle.

- Able to convey complex accounting and grant compliance concepts clearly and concisely to clients without an accounting background.

Requirements:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) [Preferred but not required]
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting
- Experience in a client-facing accounting role
- Bachelor’s Degree is required
