Accentuate Staffing is recruiting for a Staff Accountant for a well established and growing company in Durham.  This is a Direct Hire opportunity with a solid benefits package and offers a flexible hybrid (remote/in office) work schedule.

The Senior Accountant’s responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes, payroll processing, collections, employee expense reports. You will also be assisting the Finance Department as needed and respond to information requests by management and for auditing purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Reconcile bank transactions; verify deposits and follow up on any outstanding checks.
  • Ensure timely collection of payments; monitor past-due accounts; manage and resolve customer inquiries.
  • Create new contracts in the ERP system; identify contract types and relevant payment terms and conditions.
  • Manage business registrations; file annual reports required by state and follow due dates; serve as a primary liaison with the Registered agent.
  • Oversee fixed asset maintenance (acquisition, depreciation and disposition).
  • Reconcile and prepare journal entries for credit card payments.
  • Manage corporate credit cards and employee expense reporting and reimbursement.
  • Assist with tax payments to the appropriate state authorities.
  • Serve as a “backup” for accounts payable and billing functions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 3 plus years of related work experience.
  • Intermediate Proficient Excel.  Basic internet navigation and basic office software.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to focus on assigned tasks
