Accentuate Staffing is assisting a cutting edge organization in Durham who is looking for a Process Development specialist to join their team. This is a direct hire opportunity offering flexible day shift hours.

Responsibilities:

  • As the Process Development Specialist, you’ll wear many hats, contributing to R&D, testing, troubleshooting, fabrication, and supporting pilot and commercial-scale systems
  • Operate and optimize systems like gasifiers, pulse combustors, and cold flow models
  • Act as lead operator during test trials and client demonstrations
  • Analyze data, ensure trial integrity, and assist in reporting findings
  • Develop SOPs, quick guides, and calibrate instrumentation
  • Train commercial operators and assist in HAZOP reviews
  • Modify, fabricate, and maintain R&D systems and pilot equipment
  • Conduct pre- and post-trial equipment inspections
  • Manage facility inventory and ensure tools/parts availability
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
  • Partner with management to ensure local, state, and federal environmental compliance

Requirements:

  • Prior military experience highly valued
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required; process or chemical engineering experience a plus
  • Engineering degree a plus but not required
  • CAD experience is a plus
  • A hands-on, “figure it out” mentality—rigid routines and narrow roles won’t work here
  • Ability to adapt, problem-solve, and work independently in a small, innovative team
