An established company in the Cary area is currently looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their team! This position will be responsible for revenue recognition for the company’s products, services, and customer contracts. The ideal candidate will be play a key role in ensuring the accurate reporting of revenue in accordance with US GAAP through the accurate interpretation of complex contracts.

Responsibilities:

-Assist in the management of the monthly revenue close process, ensuring that all contracts, terminations, and credit memos are processed in accordance with US GAAP and company policies
-Review contracts for accuracy and completeness, including collaboration with other departments including sales, and business operations to resolve issues
-Monthly preparation, review, analysis, and reconciliation of assigned revenue-related accounts; ensuring proper GAAP accounting treatment
-Reconcile AR and Deferred Revenue accounts and book related entries in general ledger system
-Communicate with clients about billing discrepancies and questions and initiate collections on past-due accounts to maintain an accurate aging report
-Perform month end close activities including account reconciliations and G/L reviews
-Conduct account research and analysis
-Send invoices and or statement to customers
-Interact with customers to resolve outstanding issues
-Responsible for commission accrual/payment process and review all changes to commission plans to ensure they are accounted for correctly.

Requirements:

-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or business administration.
-3-5 years’ experience in accounting and finance, specifically in revenue recognition, contract review, invoicing, collections, cash applications.
-Experience with customer service and client communication
-Working knowledge of US GAAP and in particular revenue recognition accounting literature
-Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics-Great Plains
