Accentuate Staffing is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Coordinator for an exciting opportunity to join an organization to support the company’s continued growth and success. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and critical thinking skills and will be responsible for processing benefits and payroll along with other minor accounting duties.

This full-time position reports to the Accounting Manager and is based out  of the corporate headquarters in downtown, Raleigh, NC. The job is hybrid, requiring three days in the office and two days working from home.

Responsibilities:

  • Processes bi-weekly payroll for all employees, and prepares related payroll journal entries
  • Calculates employer HSA contributions and communicates funding details to vendor
  • Obtains all new hire paperwork and facilitates new hire set up in payroll system, as well as orientation to explain benefits and payroll processes
  • Assists with annual benefits enrollment and Investigates employee benefits questions/concerns throughout the benefit period
  • Maintains all aspects of COBRA coverage including processing of paperwork and payments
  • Maintains accurate records to produce reports for various governmental filings and third-party outreach (I-9 validations, employment verifications, EEO-1, unemployment claims, workers comp insurance audits, etc.)
  • Completes other minor accounting and reporting duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, accounting/business or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll and/or benefits
  • Ability to work independently as well as with others, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • Takes initiative to research and solve issues
  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to organize and priorities tasks to meet deadlines
  • Basic understanding of GAAP
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
