Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Payroll Administrator for our fast growing Manufacturing client in Durham.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect, analyze, and enter data to ensure accurate payroll processing
  • Ensure payroll is completed in an accurate and timely basis
  • Analytical review of payroll information to ensure automated payroll policies are appropriately functioning in the payroll system (ADP)
  • Implement and administer time reporting systems to ensure the proper set up and the accurate collection of employee hours for processing in the payrolls
  • Implement and maintain shift pay calculations
  • Ensure state and local tax information is set up correctly and maintained in the payroll system
  • Ensure all adjustments, exceptions and/or errors on quarterly and annual reports are resolved in the payroll system
  • Manage governmental reporting obligations:  W2’s, unemployment responses, etc.
  • Prepare and process payroll journal entries to the general ledger
  • Reconcile payroll related accounts to general ledger (monthly)
  • Point of contact for employee employment verifications
  • Act as point of contact for employees for general payroll related inquires
  • Perform aspects of the onboarding and off-boarding processes
  • Assist HR Manager with Benefit Administration and ensure all benefit payroll deductions are accurate in the payroll system (ADP)
  • Prepare for and manage audits (Workers Compensation, etc.)
  • Ensure that all garnishments and levies are done in accordance with the law
  • Document and maintain adequate and effective workflows of the various payroll processes
  • Support broader accounting functions in the areas of account analysis, account reconciliation, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Support Controller with additional Ad Hoc tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree and at least 3 years demonstrated experience processing a complex payroll.
  • Knowledge of basic Accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including Outlook email and calendar scheduling, Word and Excel.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now, is a must.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and be able to handle sensitive HR issues and information effectively
  • Strong time management, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills in a fast paced environment
  • High integrity and work ethic
