Part-time Non-Profit Accountant
Accentuate Staffing is currently seeking a Part-time Accountant for our Non-Profit client in Morrisville, NC 27560. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Part-time Accountant will be supporting a dual-entity nonprofit (501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4)) during a period of audit, systems improvement, and financial cleanup. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and support annual financial audits for c3 and c4 entities
- Clean up and reconcile balance sheet accounts and historical issues
- Support accounting system implementation or optimization
- Maintain accurate fund, grant, and inter-entity accounting
- Track grant budgets, expenses, and compliance (c3)
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and close support
- Assist with Forms 990 and coordinate with external tax preparers
- Improve internal controls and accounting processes
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable, revenue & expense reports
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 7+ years of accounting experience
- Non-Profit Industry experience required
- Strong audit and accounting cleanup experience
- Experience with grant tracking and fund accounting
- Working knowledge of Form 990 (c3 and c4)
- Experience with cost allocations and multi-entity accounting
- Proficiency in common nonprofit accounting systems
- Advanced Excel skills
