Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Medical Billing and Collections Specialist to join a pharmaceutical Infusion company located in the area. This position will initially be onsite for training and will have the ability to work a hybrid schedule after being trained. The Medical billing and collections specialist will perform pre-delivery phone calls to patients to discuss their insurance coverage, deductibles, OOP, and set up a payment plan if needed. Creates invoice for each new patient, if necessary, to include in first drug delivery to patient.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and maintains tracking system and makes follow up patient phone calls for payments
  • Posting of payments into CPR Software from Insurance carrier and /or payments from patients
  • Answers the telephone and triages to appropriate person as indicated.
  • Participates in department QA activities as requested.
  • Attends designated department meetings as scheduled
  • Perform phone calls to elicit monthly payments from previous established payment plans
  • Bills other payers including MD office accounts for Drugs / Supplies dispensed
  • Billing of credit card charges for patients via On-line merchant platform
  • Works closely with our outside billing service as needed for cash posting/ EOB issues
  • Monitors claim rejection EOB’s in Mail and forward to billing company in a timely manner
  • Provide clinical documentation to payers when requested
  • Ongoing billing of Medicare Part-D Drug claims to payers and
  • Monitors and acts quickly on Part-D denials in a timely manner
  • Work closely with in-house A/P department for cash posting procedures

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree is preferred
  • Must have 2-3 years of medical billing and collections experience
  • Pharmacy Billing is a plus
  • Medicare Part-D experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong Customer service skills are required
  • Must be proficient with MS Office
