Mechanical Engineering Technician
Accentuate Staffing is assisting a medical device company in the Morrisville area recruit for a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join their team. This role would be responsible for prototyping, assembly, and workshop operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing mechanical concepts to life, keeping a workspace running smoothly, and collaborating closely with engineers and early‑career team members. This is a contract to hire opportunity working on day shift.
Responsibilities:
- Support engineers and junior team members by demonstrating proper tool use, assembly techniques, and safe shop practices.
- Build and assemble mechanical prototypes using incoming fabricated parts, ensuring components fit and function as intended.
- Review mechanical designs and offer practical input on assembly feasibility, maintenance access, and manufacturability.
- Oversee the organization and upkeep of the workshop, ensuring tools, equipment, and materials remain in excellent condition.
- Assist with documentation tasks, including validation checklists and quality‑related records.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in a mechanical, machining, technician, or related shop‑based role.
- Strong proficiency with common hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assembly methods.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and translate them into accurate, real‑world builds.
- Strong organizational habits and a commitment to maintaining a clean, efficient workshop environment.
- Bonus skills: basic electrical knowledge, manual machining experience, background in regulated industries, or familiarity with documentation workflows.
