Accentuate Staffing is working with a growing medical device manufacturer in the area who is seeking a Technical Sales Support Engineer.  This role will be a part of the sales team, focusing on selling and supporting new prospects and prospecting the current customer base.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for gathering technical inputs from inbound and outbound client project inquiries, qualifying potential sales leads, determine the project scope and estimated project costs, and support in the overall quotation and sales process
  • Partner with sales team and executive leadership to plan, prepare and execute projects and quotes through complex sales cycle
  • Facilitate phone discussions and in person meetings to understand customer’s product, gather product and project requirements, and determine whether the company is able to support the project based on their capabilities
  • Work with sales team to qualify project and determine whether project should progress through the sales process
  • Participate on customer calls/visits/onsite visits
  • Attend trade shows as needed
  • Review IQMS and work order closure to ensure project health
  • Manage all technical aspects of RFP/RFI needs
  • Collect and document competitive intelligence
  • Follow up with existing prospects/projects and new prospects for customer experience

Requirements:

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Engineering, preferably in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Work experience in Medical OEM or contract manufacturing, preferably in R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, or Sales
  • ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 knowledge preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  •  Strong engineering skills, acumen, and experience, including structured problem solving, ability to understand complex concepts and new technologies, and make technical recommendations
  •   Proficient computer MS Office
  •  Proficient in Solid Works and/or CAD skills to be able to interpret customer documentation, drawings, and files
  • Adept at conduction research into project-related issues and products
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies
  •  Technical expertise that is demonstrated in specific polymer processing technologies and/or product development processes/ manufacturing, preferred but not required

Communication, Organization, and General Skills

  •  Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate critical design/project information to customers or internal stakeholders
  • Ability to explain and present complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner
  •  Project management and organizational skills and experience, including developing and managing a scope of work, managing multiple projects and deliverables at the same time
  • Ability to work independently, in a group environment
  • Ability to work across business unit functions and various levels within an organization
  •  Skilled to take calculated risks and/or make recommendations
  • Able to be coached and mentored by multiple leaders across the organization
