Accentuate Staffing is recruiting for a Legal Investigator to join a Raleigh-based law firm. This role works closely with attorneys and case managers on personal injury cases, providing investigative support that strengthens both settlement and litigation efforts. The Investigator will gather and analyze evidence, identify insurance coverage, interview witnesses, and utilize investigative tools to build strong cases.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with attorneys and case managers to develop investigation strategies, set priorities, and support case preparation.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, including collecting, preserving, and analyzing evidence, as well as interviewing witnesses and clients.
  • Identify potential insurance coverage options.
  • Draft spoliation letters, submit FOIA requests, and review state/federal law enforcement reports for key information.
  • Perform in-depth research using criminal, civil, and driving records, as well as social media and other databases.
  • Retrieve records and information from agencies to support case development.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, legal studies, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in personal injury law, investigations, or a related legal field.
  • Proven experience in legal or personal injury investigations strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interview and interact professionally with clients, witnesses, and defendants.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for interpreting data and case evidence.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with investigative tools, databases, and legal research methods.
  • Familiarity with drafting legal correspondence and submitting FOIA requests.
