Systems Engineer
Accentuate Staffing is working with an established organization in the insurance and financial services industry that is hiring a Systems Engineer for its internal IT team. This is a hands-on role with broad responsibility for the company’s IT infrastructure. The engineer will help keep the environment running day to day while also taking on upgrades, migrations, security improvements, automation, and other infrastructure projects.
This role is a good fit for someone who has grown beyond basic systems administration and is comfortable handling problems across different areas of IT. You may be supporting servers one day, troubleshooting a network or firewall issue the next, and working on an Azure or automation project after that. The team is looking for someone who can troubleshoot independently, take ownership of technical work, and step into projects without being limited to one specialty.
Responsibilities:
- Support and troubleshoot the company’s server, cloud, network, and virtualization environments.
- Handle system upgrades, migrations, and other infrastructure changes.
- Troubleshoot network, VPN, firewall, and connectivity issues.
- Use PowerShell and Terraform to automate routine infrastructure work.
- Help maintain security across systems, endpoints, networks, and user access.
- Support disaster recovery efforts and take part in larger IT infrastructure projects.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on systems administration, systems engineering, or infrastructure engineering experience.
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, VMware, and Azure.
- Hands-on networking experience with VLANs, routing, VPNs, firewalls, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience using PowerShell for administration or automation; Terraform experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting infrastructure security, including MFA and endpoint protection; CrowdStrike, Varonis, or Palo Alto experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience or relevant technical certifications will also be considered.
