Accentuate Staffing has a direct hire opening for an Instrumentation Technician for a client in Greensboro, NC.  The position is responsible for employing proper safety practices during installation, calibration, and maintenance procedures for electrical construction related projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Connecting wiring in an electronic control loop
  • Select and operate test equipment to measure electrical properties and calibrate instruments
  • Calibrate Pressure (Inches of water), Analytical (pH, Conductivity), Temperature, Flow and Level transmitters and controllers (with PID Tuning)
  • Calibrate PSIG, PSIA, PSID, RTD, Thermocouple, and I/P transmitters / transducers and Control Valves (Butterfly and Gate style)
  • Configure smart differential pressure and temperature transmitters
  • Calculate, record on reports and graph instrument performance data to compare with specifications and identify errors
  • Measure and record voltage, current, resistance
  • Calculate span and range values for various levels measurement applications
  • Recognize the importance of maintenance in the proper operation of instruments and control systems
  • Use manufacturer’s guidelines to configure instruments for specific process applications
  • Understand and explain installation considerations and practices for instruments and control systems
  • Install electronic instruments using manufacturer’s guidelines and ISA’s recommended practices and procedures
  • Use P&ID, wiring, schematic, Data or Specification sheets and installation detail drawings to install, calibrate, and verify proper operation of instruments
  • Understand and explain methods for reducing electrical hazards including intrinsically safe installation
  • Understand Field bus systems and personal computers in process control
  • Configure and calibrate a single loop digital controller
  • Understand simple feedback flow loop, perform loop checks, and tune the loop using trial and error tuning

Requirements:

  • Three to five years’ experience, in all facets of Instrumentation in the industrial and pharmaceutical Service / Construction field and or Technical School training / Degree in Instrumentation or equivalent experience
  • Problem solving skills and follow through abilities
  • Valid driver license
