Accentuate Staffing is seeking a highly qualified Security Subject Matter Expert to support one of our valued clients in the Defense & National Security sector. This is a full-time direct hire opportunity where you’ll leverage your expertise to ensure the highest level of security compliance and protection, enabling our valued clients to achieve their critical missions. In this position, you’ll make a real difference by safeguarding classified programs through complex projects and purposeful collaboration.

To be considered for this role, you’ll need to hold a Top Secret clearance and have experience in government security. This role will work with various teams and leadership to secure all aspects of their security posture. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of security clearances and access controls for employees, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
  • Conduct security risk assessments, design and implement security controls, and develop contingency plans to mitigate identified vulnerabilities and protect sensitive information.
  • Maintain oversight of all security systems, alarms, and training programs, ensuring their functionality, effectiveness, and alignment with evolving security needs.
  • Ensure the effective implementation and adherence to document control procedures and classified information handling protocols, safeguarding sensitive data and maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Champion and lead the organization’s adherence to DoD regulations and program-specific security requirements, collaborating effectively with stakeholders to implement and maintain robust security controls.

Requirements:

  • Must possess Top Secret security clearance; SCI clearance with Polygraph a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in security, preferably within the government sector, or in a closely related field
  • Strong understanding and ability to apply DoD regulations, security standards, and best practices, including ICD 705, NISPOM, JSIG, RMF, and relevant NIST publications.
  • Proficient in applying security best practices, risk management principles, and the ability to apply them to implement and manage Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes.
  • Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in attention to detail and ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
