Accentuate Staffing is seeking an experienced Fraud Investigator to join a financial cooperative in Raleigh, NC. As a Fraud Investigator, you’ll have the opportunity to mitigate risk and minimize losses by investigating suspicious activity. You’ll research and analyze activities, identify internal control breakdowns, and take action in situations that pose a risk. This is a direct hire role primarily remote, candidates can live within 1 hour of North Raleigh.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough research and analysis of fraudulent activity related to card and share accounts referred by vendor, internal departments and by direct request initiated by member.
- Contact person for Digital, Retail, Lending, and the Teller Center when it comes to investigations into suspicious and fraudulent activities and for escalating investigations requiring a SAR to Risk Management.
- Make recommendations for adjusting internal and external controls based on investigations and trends.
- Initiate and execute fraud investigations across all relevant business lines and ensuring our business partners are employing best practices around security.
- Review case documentation and maintaining thorough and accurate case notes so they may be accessed throughout the organization and relied on by others to gain an understanding of the investigations quickly.
- Maintain investigation files in accordance with legal record-keeping policies and retention schedules.
- Prepare cases for criminal and civil prosecution and attending court to pursue restitution and testify on behalf of the organization .
- Prepare and provide confidential reports to management.
- Ensure compliance with the organizations Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security, and suspicious activity reporting requirements, policies, and procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum two years as a fraud investigator
- 2-3 years of experience within a banking institution
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Finance/Administration or related field
- Must be organized, detail-oriented person who learns quickly and thrives on analyzing and interpreting information, finding patterns, and seeing correlations between things that don’t seem to be related.
- A natural tendency toward wanting to “do things right” and “follow the rules.”
- Derives satisfaction from taking a concern or problem and seeing it through to resolution.
- Enjoys building rapport with others and who is available for occasional travel.
