Accentuate Staffing is looking for a Hardware Design Engineer with analog and digital electronics design experience to join our clients Research and Development Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead product development projects from the concept phase to manufacturing launch.
  • Write project and product requirements specifications.
  • Directly interface with customers to clearly and concisely communicate technical information.
  • Architect and design hardware solutions by analyzing the performance and feasibility of alternative hardware concepts using circuit theory and simulations.
  • Implement physical hardware designs by selecting components, capturing schematics and supervising PCB layouts.
  • Supervise external contractors; work with outside labs.
  • Support the assembly of prototypes by providing documentation and assistance to ensure high quality prototypes are built in a timely manner.
  • Develop and execute hardware design verification test plans per requirements specifications to ensure prototypes meet design requirements.
  • Develop project documentation in accordance with quality and change management procedures and guidelines to ensure project information is properly organized and archived.
  • Provide support for existing and future electrical products and general electrical engineering support for the entire company.
  • Mentor less experienced team members.
  • Conduct design reviews, participate in and facilitate DFMEAs.
  • Continue to learn new skills and techniques through in-house training, outside training/coursework, seminars, trade shows and appropriate use of the internet and participate in the training of other members of the engineering team in these skills.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product development and product release of printed circuit board level electronic hardware with expertise in analog and digital circuits focused on the precise measurement of low voltages.
  • Working knowledge designing with electronic hardware design tools such as schematic capture (Orcad, Altium, PADS, or similar), PCB design, noise calculation, timing analysis and signal integrity.
  • Ability to develop electronic hardware systems that meet product certification requirements, such as UL and CE.
  • Experience simulating analog circuit performance (e.g., using software such as LTspice or similar).
  • Previous experience developing a minimum of two (2) products from concept through production.
  • Experience with the design of motor control electronics is desired.
  • Experience with writing firmware in C/C++ for embedded systems is a plus.
  • Experience with different communication protocols is a plus.
  • Design experience with fieldbus interfaces such as PROFIBUS, PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP and EtherCAT is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Python or a similar programming language would be a plus.
  • Experience with the design for functional safety, especially for IEC 61508 is a plus.
