Accentuate Staffing is looking for new graduate to 3 years of experience post-graduation ideally in an EV related field of development.  Automotive engineering experience is applicable, as is aviation, industrial automation, and some consumer goods like electric tools.  Ideally we are looking for someone with natural talents that demonstrate experience inventing solutions, thinking outside of the box, being hands on in their garage with the resourcefulness to follow through and take a rough set of vague specifications to a fully developed solution.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and modify marine electric propulsion systems.  Evaluate electrical system engineering alternatives for various attributes, including cost, weight, package, quality, benchmarking, geometry creation and functional analysis
  • Must be able to develop electrical construction schematics and harness drawings using CAD software like Autocad, Solidworks, etc.
  • Perform power system studies and system debugging.
  • Specify OEM power system components for EV testing, building and supporting functions.
  • Recommend equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify processes, and improve material designs or material flaws as related to electrical systems and components.
  • Participates in the investigation, development and testing where overall operational, space, functional and similar design requirements have been specified. Designs or selects available designs to meet requirements. Evaluates merits of design with higher skilled engineers. Acquires familiarization with the project, engineering or research effort and company engineering practices and standards
  • Works from specific assignments from supervisor or senior engineering personnel which may include design and development of specific components, circuits, compilation of data for research investigation by study groups; performance of parameters that have been determined; analysis of test data; calculation of results.
  • Instructs and directs the work of technicians, if assigned.
  • Able to clearly see, plan and create connections between assignments as they build into a project. Is eventually able to lead small projects including cross functional communication, planning and alignment.
  • Investigate and resolve technical problems involving product performance, corrective action investigations, and other actions as needed to support the goals of the organization.
  • Work with component suppliers, manufacturers, outside labs and other service providers as needed to assure the most cost effective, robust designs are implemented.
  • Work with purchasing, planning, and the dev team as needed to assure the most cost effective, robust designs are implemented on time.

Requirements:

  • Proficient Solidworks CAD Ability
    • Able to create new design models as instructed
    • Able to refine & change existing design models
    • Able to use Solidworks PDM to manage and maintain CAD model and drawing revisions according to Design Control procedures
  • With guidance, able to manage low/medium complexity projects with several components, sourcing requirements
    • Lead design reviews, status meetings
  • Able to produce high quality finished engineering drawings of all parts
    • Good working knowledge of electrical engineering standards
  • Able to select components based on specific requirements
  • Able to perform relevant engineering calculations
  • Able to perform competitor research and analysis, where applicable
  • Able to lead more complex troubleshooting assembly issues
  • Able to identify areas for product/process improvement with suggested solutions
  • Proficient with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and Visio).
  • BSEE or equivalent required, with a minimum of 3.5 GPA or equivalent required
