Accentuate Staffing is recruiting for a Corporate Communications Manager.  This role will work closely with internal and external business partners to lead the development and implementation of multi-channel communications strategies to support business objectives. This role is responsible for continuously thinking of different and better ways to manage communications, internally and externally, and staying on top of industry trends. While the Manager will have direct report(s) who provide support, this is a hands-on role that requires someone who can not only lead but also jump in on the grunt work to get the job done.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Sr. Director of Communications and External Affairs to develop and execute a multi-channel external communications strategy to evolve and promote the corporate narrative, with a high priority on investor and ESG-related communication.
  • Partner with Sustainability Director to produce an annual GRI report, Modern Slavery Transparency statement and other suitability communication documents/materials in order to meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Partner with Global Human Resources and Internal Communications Specialist to develop an internal communications strategy that promotes employee engagement.
  • Work with the Sr. Director of Communications and External Affairs to anticipate, prepare for and manage key communications issues with potential for significant company-wide impact.
  • Draft and oversee review process of the Company’s communications such as press releases, statements, by-lined articles, key messages, FAQs, presentations, etc.
  • Manage multi-channel editorial calendar.
  • Serve as a key media contact, acting as spokesperson for the Company, monitoring and facilitating press requests.
  • Manage updates to the Company’s websites to reflect the Company’s narrative.
  • Manage Corporate Communications team members and outside vendors to ensure global implementation of the strategy.
  • Provide communications strategic counsel and support to leadership and business units, as needed. Ensure business unit messaging is consistent with the company’s corporate messaging.
  • Responsible for annual communications budget.

Requirements:

  • University degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field, with 7-10 years’ experience in corporate communications and agency experience (comprised of external, internal, IR, sustainability, brand and/or change communications).
  • Successful experience working in a global, rapid-paced business environment with a complex, matrix organizational structure.
  • Passionate storyteller with excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills (AP Style). Strong research and analysis abilities with a focus on accuracy.
  • Able to translate complex technical language and ideas into easy to comprehend language. Expertise in using different styles to reflect the nature of the stakeholder, audience and message.
  • Media-savvy with established reporter relationships and results securing earned coverage.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including public speaking, training and presentation capabilities, interpersonal skills, negotiation skills and conflict resolution.
  • Experience working directly with senior management, including executive and C-suite level, both inside and outside of a company.
  • Ability to run with projects while keeping key stakeholders updated on progress, opportunities and issues.
  • Proven project management ability and experience managing outside agencies.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of cross-functioning teams.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with success managing multiple projects from inception through to completion.
  • Strong track record handling confidential company information and adhering to the highest ethical standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams), Adobe, Cision (or similar) and internal communications platforms including Workplace and Yammer.
  • Graphic design and video production experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
