Accentuate Staffing is working with a Small, dynamic company in Research Triangle Park, NC, who is actively looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Controller to join their Accounting team.  The Accounting Manager/Controller is responsible for executing month-end and year-end closings, creating and reviewing various reports for the preparation of tax returns, general ledger reviews, and assisting in forecasting and budgeting.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review financial reports for sales/use, local, state and federal taxes, and stockholders for multiple entities
  • Coordinate the preparation of annual tax returns with outside CPA firm
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, monitor adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions
  • Assist in preparation of budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
  • Manage general ledger and complete month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Create monthly financial statements
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules
  • Monitor administration of company retirement plan and prepare Annual 5500 Form
  • Supervise 1 Accounting staff member

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting/finance
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting/finance
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Controller
  • Experience working with multiple entities under different legal umbrellas preferred
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations
  • Effective GAAP and financial reporting technical skills
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Experience with Quickbooks accounting software
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Credibility, ethical and clean financial history
