Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Contract Paralegal to join an established company in the Raleigh area. This position will support the legal department under the supervision of the Senior Corporate Counsel and will provide legal support to the attorneys and staff in all facets of global legal tasks.
Responsibilities:
-Support the commercial attorneys in all aspects of business development and contracting matters including client/sponsor contracts and strategic alliances, global lease issues, vendor and corporate contracting matters, and various issues escalated from the business units and internal departments.
-Support the internal and external litigation team in monitoring claims and pending litigation.
-Assist the labor and employment team in drafting position statements, demand letters and severance agreements. Investigate and research employment disputes, collective bargaining efforts and Works Council matters.
-Support the transaction team in forming and dissolving corporate entities, maintaining corporate books and various mergers and acquisition activities.
-Assist with a wide variety of legal issues including corporate, regulatory, commercial, compliance and general legal matters.
-Coordinate notarization and legalization of documents.
-Assist in researching issues, generating reports and advising internal customers regarding business and legal inquiries.
-Perform legal and factual research, and prepare written, statistical and graphical reports as needed.
-Perform administrative support in preparing and distributing various memos and reports related to attorney projects, tracking legal invoices and the department budget.
Requirements:
-B.A. /B.S. degree in business, legal or related field or equivalent education and experience; and paralegal certification preferably from an ABA approved paralegal program.
-Must possess paralegal experience in a large law firm or corporate in-house legal department.
-Industry experience in a CRO, biotech or pharmaceutical drug development company helpful but not required.
-Commissioned by North Carolina’s Secretary of State as a notary public, or willingness to become a notary.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) email and voice mail; and familiarity with legal research tools.
