Responsibilities:
- Gather all necessary data, including plans, standards, dimensions, designs, mixes, soil types, etc. to bid and win or negotiate bids effectively and profitably
- Investigate, gather, and compile all details of the projects by performing take offs to estimate accurately each job using take-off program software and field measurements to successfully obtain a profitable project
- Review estimates and cost breakdowns in a timely manner to permit careful analysis, checking of calculations, and corrections as necessary
- Manage all levels of the project, including inception to completion, the attendance of preconstruction and job progress meetings; preparation of bid and job correspondence, progress schedules, and change proposals
- Contact all suppliers and vendors to initiate and facilitate all contracts during the bid process
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in construction management and a 4 year engineering degree or construction management degree
- Knowledge of the construction industry and for the area market
- Willing to work long hours associated with the position
- HCSS Software knowledge
- Knowledge of NCDOT specifications
- OSHA 10/30 preferred
