Accentuate Staffing is recruiting for a Compensation Manager to join the HR ream of a pharmaceutical company in RTP.   This is a Direct Hire opportunity with a leading organization!

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of a total compensation philosophy that assists the Company in meeting its business objectives
  • Assist with the design, development, implementation, and administration of total compensation programs as well as education efforts
  • Conduct market pay analysis for use in job evaluations, salary recommendations for new hires and promotions, annual compensation process and ad hoc requests to ensure external competitiveness and internal equity, while adhering to the company’s compensation philosophy
  • Participate in market salary surveys and conduct annual market analysis for company-specific deliverables, analyze results and prepare recommendations
  • Design, develop, deploy and maintain position-specific pay ranges company-wide
  • Prepare supporting data for the review of annual salary budget
  • Conduct FLSA analysis on all newly created job descriptions and any existing job descriptions as needed to determine exempt/nonexempt status
  • Oversight and management of compensation system tool (PayFactors) and the compensation module of Workday, including optimization, ad hoc reporting needs, and application improvements
  • Advise and support the design, development, and maintenance of compensation-related data in systems such as job codes, job families, salary structures/pay ranges, position codes, EEO, and AAP job classifications. Conduct audits to maintain the integrity of the data
  • Evaluate proposed and existing jobs and classifying them in accordance with the Company’s career framework, including the levels of importance and responsibility to the company
  • Support compliance obligations and responses to government compensation audits including DOL and OFCCP
  • Oversight of requests for exceptions to current HR policy to ensure proper determination and documentation of justification and rationale
  • Manage special projects on a variety of compensation programs, policies and related matters
  • Monitor compensation practices from a legal standpoint to ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations such as FLSA, Equal Pay Act, Title VII, OFCCP, etc. Identify areas of noncompliance and works with management to take corrective action
  • Research compensation best practices and propose new and improved programs or practices based on organizational needs, cost projections, and statistical analysis
  • Develop educational materials, communications, process documentation, instructions and resources to assist HR business partners and leaders as it relates to compensation, including compensation planning, total rewards communications, and other compensation-related topics
  • Support the administration of long-term incentive awards to include grants, distributions, exercises, participant information, and data loads
  • Assist with the review and administration of our equity programs, specifically during ESPP purchases and annual grant cycles

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, finance, accounting or another related field
  • 5+ years of progressive compensation experience required within an HR function
  • 3+ years of other related HR experience
  • Experience building compensation models and conducting pay analysis
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation of data; Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including the ability to build pivot tables, create and execute complex formulas strongly preferred
  • Experience managing and administering compensation programs using a compensation management system required
  • Well versed in compensation theory and local, state and federal laws and regulations such as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Equal Pay Act (EPA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and subsequent amendments (ADAAA), minimum wage, overtime, and record-keeping requirements
  • Working understanding and knowledge of employment law, both state and federal, including but not limited to EEO and OFCCP
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in business, human resources, finance, accounting or another related field
  • CCP – Certified Compensation Professional
  • PHR/SPHR/SHRM certification
  • 3+ years of experience administering compensation programs in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry preferred
  • In-depth experience benchmarking within both Radford and Mercer industry surveys preferred
  • Experience with Payfactors and/or Workday
