Accentuate Staffing is assisting an established manufacturer in the Raleigh area recruit for a CNC machinist to join their NPI (New Product Introduction) team. This is a temp to hire opportunity working on 2nd shift, 4pm-2:30am Monday-Thursday, however candidates must be available to train on 1st shift, 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday, for about 30 days.

As an NPI Machinist (New Product Introduction), you will be responsible for setting up CNC machines and related equipment for machining operations during new product introduction and development phases. You will work on first articles and pilot lots for process verification, participate in problem-solving activities, contribute to quality improvements, and ensure adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret drawings to set up CNC machines.
  • Inspect first article parts and ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Utilize advanced inspection systems such as the Keyence vision system.
  • Collaborate with CNC programmers to develop efficient machining programs.
  • Troubleshoot nonconforming conditions with QC inspectors.
  • Establish effective setup procedures and assist in creating work instructions.
  • Maintain accurate production by making necessary adjustments during operations.
  • Operate multiple CNC machines including Milling (Haas) and Turning (Mazak)
  • Ensure the quality of parts before forwarding them to the next process.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of CNC setup experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in CNC machining (Mills, Lathes, Grinders) and general knowledge G-code programming.
  • Experience with 3 axis and 4th axis machining, 5 axis a plus!
  • Familiarity with HAAS controls, Mazak a plus!
  • Proficient in CMMs, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, and calipers
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T blueprints.
  • Must be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs continuously
  • Will be required to pass a criminal background check and drug test
