Accentuate Staffing is partnering with a leading civil engineering and inspection services company who is hiring for a CEI Technician / Construction Inspector. This is a direct hire opportunity offering competitive pay and onsite field work. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-driven, and experienced in construction inspection or materials testing.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform daily construction inspections to ensure compliance with building codes, project specifications, and engineering drawings.
  2. Conduct field testing and visual/physical inspections across disciplines, including concrete, structural steel, masonry, and fireproofing.
  3. Document findings in clear inspection reports and communicate results to Project Managers and engineering teams.
  4. Interpret construction drawings/specifications and assist with issue resolution when needed.
  5. Maintain testing equipment and calibration requirements.
  6. Follow strict safety protocols, perform pre-task planning, and report any concerns immediately.
  7. Support senior inspectors on complex or multi-discipline projects.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Civil or Construction Technology preferred.
  2. 2–4 years of experience as an Engineering Technician or relevant construction experience (1+ year inspection preferred).
  3. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  4. At least one applicable certification such as:
    • NICET Level II (Asphalt, Concrete, Soils, Geotechnical)
    • ICC Certifications (Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Fireproofing, Steel, etc.)
    • AWS CWI
    • ASNT Level II (VT, MT, PT, RT, UT)
    • ACI Field or Strength Testing (if required for role)
  5. Ability to obtain radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge certification (unless exempt based on other certifications).
  6. Strong documentation skills and ability to interpret plans/specs.
