Accentuate Staffing has an immediate direct hire opportunity with an established manufacturing organization for a Buyer/Planner in Youngsville, NC. In this position, the ideal candidate is responsible for both planning and purchasing a variety of finished products and materials to support the organization’s operations. Additional responsibilities include coordinating and reporting on key supply chain and materials management metrics relating to procurement activities with their supply partners to maintain proper inventory levels and support ongoing projects. 3 – 5 years’ experience in a buying oriented role withing a manufacturing setting is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-time delivery to support demand requirements from the suppliers and to the customers
  • Mitigate supply chain supply gaps and delivery issues
  • Ensure company inventory is up to date and sufficient to maintain current demands and future pipeline projects
  • Ensure that company inventory turns objectives are being met and that inventory days on hand objectives are not exceeded
  • Identify obsolete inventory and work with management to disposition and remove
  • Maintain purchased inventory investment and maximize purchasing operating efficiency
  • Track inventory trends to determine what components/finished goods are in high/low demand
  • Effectively and proactively manage item planning rules such as re-order points, min/max quantities and safety stock levels to support changes in production and material usage
  • Analyze 3-, 6- and 9-month pipeline reports to track future demand for various parts
  • Review and initiate purchases and plan the supply of materials used for both production and fulfillment
  • Ensure review and maintenance of min/max and safety stock inventory levels to support changes in production plans and material usage
  • Review and maintain vendor lead times and quotes
  • Implement Engineering and Regulatory changes as required
  • Support new product development, coordinate scheduling and ramp-up of new product releases
  • On occasion, negotiate pricing of components or finished goods with suppliers and participate in supplier selection
  • Monitor purchase price variance and make recommendations to management regarding cost updates and price reduction opportunities
  • Conduct weekly review of inventory trend reports that summarize progress in supply chain objectives and metrics
  • Interface with various departments and management to identify, communicate and resolve planning-related problems
  • Interface with customers in cross-functional meetings

Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Scientific or Accounting fields
  • 3 + years of purchasing and/or planning experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong sense of ownership, assertive follow-through and orientation towards results
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, adapt to change and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Able to prepare basic reports using the appropriate mode of communication
  • Customer/ Client service orientation; driven to meet or exceed consumer expectations
  • APICS CPIM or CPSC certification preferred
