Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Benefits Specialist to join a well-established company in Durham. The Benefits Specialist is responsible for performing all day to day tasks necessary to accomplish the implementation of the company’s benefits programs and monitoring relationships with external vendors and state and federal agencies. The majority of the employee’s time is spent coordinating and implementing the functions of the benefits department. This position requires a detail-orientated person with experience in benefits administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining records of the group health insurance, employee stock ownership plan, 401(K) plan, retiree benefits programs, and other company’s benefit programs, advising new and departing employees regarding  benefits offered by the company, and monitoring compliance with company procedures, and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Entering, and maintaining employee benefits records, as well as coordinating with the Payroll Department to ensure proper payroll deductions for new, existing and departing employees.
  • Preparing reports to CFO, HR, and Finance team as needed.
  • Preparing the paperwork related to the administration of benefit programs on a timely basis, including reviewing and approving vendor invoices.
  • Being an information resource to company management regarding benefit policy and issues.

Requirements:

  • Experience and familiarity with employee benefits administration required.
  • Familiarity with labor law and regulations at the local, state, and federal level, including ACA regulations would be a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, or HR, or related field preferred.
  • High attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • A history of ethical conduct working with sensitive and confidential data.
