Accentuate Staffing is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to oversee billing, collections, and all other AR related tasks for a growing manufacturing company in the Raleigh area. The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for effective management, analysis and problem resolution of the company’s outstanding accounts and the application of payments. Works in conjunction with the Accounting and Finance team to ensure the timely resolution of complex deduction and collection issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Posts customer payments by recording checks, electronic payments, and credit card transactions.
  • Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering corrections to customer accounts.
  • Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and customers.
  • Performs weekly/monthly reconciliation functions to ensure timely cash applications.
  • Investigates delinquent accounts and contacts customers to collect payment as expeditiously as possible.
  • Consistently follows‐up with customers and monitors expected customer payment dates.
  • Conduct credit checks on all new customers; establishes and manages limits.
  • Notifies management with recommended solutions (i.e, payment plans, collections, etc).
  • Organizes and maintains retention files for a required period of time.
  • Continuously evaluates current processes and makes recommendations for process improvements.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A or B.S) from a four-year college or university in an Accounting or Finance discipline and 3-5 years Accounts Receivable experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Data entry experience – knowledge of billing and credits
  • Strong MS Office Skills –proficient in Excel
  • Must have organizational skills and able to work collaboratively across teams
  • Customer Service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations
