Accentuate Staffing is working with a Start-up Biotech Company in RTP, NC who is looking to hire an Accounting Manager.  This is a Temp-Hire Opportunity with a growing company!

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparing financial statements, maintaining accounting records, reconciliation of monthly ledgers, payroll processing, and evaluating operating results in terms of cost, revenues, budgets, and policies of operation
  • Responsible for all areas relating to monthly accounting and financial reporting (Management and Board)
  • Will develop and maintain accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements
  • Will supervise one staff accountant and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities
  • Support budget and forecasting activities. Respond to inquiries from the CFO, Controller, and other managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the likes
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department. Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits without material weaknesses
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed
  • Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.
  • Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff
  • Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting. CPA preferred
  • 5-7 years’ prior supervisory experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area. Experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software (knowledge of Xero advantageous)
  • Strong hands-on experience and proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
