Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Patient Assistance Specialist to join a growing pharmaceutical company in the Cary area.  This position is responsible for performing the appropriate processes to verify patient eligibility, coordinate benefits, and determine patient coverage/responsibility for services. This is a temporary assignment (60-90 days) only. The hours are Monday — Friday, 9am-6pm.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with providers regarding patient updates
• Facilitate prior authorization with insurance companies for customer receiving same day shipments
• Update documentation to reflect estimation times on prior authorizations
• Scans verification of patient eligibility, benefits and out-of-pocket expenses
• Process pharmacy claims while verifying correct date of service
• Follow-up on claim rejections by identifying and adding missing information on the claim, calling the insurance company or the physician for more information
• Submits patients for Copay Assistance

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Healthcare experience preferred
• Prefer at least 1+ years of experience working and understanding Insurance Verification/Benefits
• Proficiency in Microsoft Applications
• Excellent Customer Service Skills
