Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Tax Accountant to join a local company in the Raleigh area.  This position is accountable for the collection of tax-related information, reporting to taxation authorities at the federal, state, county, and local levels in a timely manner, and advising clients on the impact of various tax strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Devise tax strategies to defer or eliminate tax liabilities
• Meet with clients and create tax data collection systems
• Complete required tax reporting in a timely manner
• Gather information and coordinate audits by various taxation authorities
• Research and correct process errors that caused incorrect tax filings
• Negotiate with tax authorities over tax payment issues
• Research the basis for tax positions to be taken
• Tax law research
• Advise clients on the impact of various tax strategies.
• Advise clients on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities
• Maintain depreciation and amortization schedules
• Strong corporate and individual tax knowledge and experience
• Assist with producing standardized work process documents
• Train clients on QuickBooks
• Educate clients in general accounting and office management
• Assist clients in producing proforma income and cash flow
• This job may require travel to client sites

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• CPA or EA-Enrolled Agent Designation preferred
• 5+ years of experience in small to medium businesses accounting required
• 5+ years of QuickBooks experience required
• 5+ years of Tax accounting and preparation ( Business and Individual)
• MS Office software proficiency required
