Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for an Accounting Specialist to join an established company in the Raleigh area!  This position performs varied accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, weekly deposits verifies accuracy of payables documents, verifies account codes, reconcile and analyze assigned accounts, and understands the accounting system.

Responsibilities:

  • 1 Monitors cash receipts and create batches for distribution to CS reps.
  • Processes AR batches and posts receipts to customer accounts.
  • Maintains receivables and assists in collection actions.
  • Handles incoming checks by depositing directly to bank using check scanner and resolving any issues.
  • Reviews daily PayPal credit card settlements and reconciles.
  • Posts incoming wires as notified via e-mails from our bank.
  • Does all portions of Accounts Payables including sorting, checking for proper account coding, assigns vendor ID’s, enters in System, selects and pays invoices due for the week, gets them approved by CFO and has them prepared for mailing.
  • Oversees vendor W-9’s, vendor EFT’s, as well as Safe Pay.
  • Voids and reissues lost checks.
  • Reviews uncashed checks to determine if stop payment and reissue as needed.
  • Prepares the annual 1099’s to vendors.
  • Does monthly royalty accruals and issues their checks twice a year.
  • Assists Controller with calculation and entry of monthly closing journal entries including sales and use tax.
  • Monthly processes section membership, publication and certification orders
  • Plays a role in the Accounting team, working as a team player in setting goals, being responsible for the successful completion of team goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 2-3 years in an accounting position, including use of computerized accounting applications.
  • Must have solid EXCEL skills to include working with formulas.
  • Must be organized and very detail oriented.
