Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Controller to join an established company in the Durham area.  This position will manage and oversee all accounting operations and personnel and timely distribution of monthly financial reporting; Ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR and company accounting policies; Manage cash flow, cash forecasts, and publish cash reports; Continually monitor and assess company’s financial, accounting, and internal control systems and processes for regulatory compliance and management reporting; Work with executive management team to develop long-term strategic planning and cost management initiatives; Provide business decision support through in-depth analysis and recommendations for various business and operational improvements; Coordinate interaction with board, financial institutions, accountants, and auditors in a professional manner.

Responsibilities:

• Financial planning and forecasting
• Overall responsibility for accounting and preparation of financial statements and related reports on a divisional basis
• Forecast, monitor and communicate financial performance providing recommendations for business and operational improvements
• Monitor fiscal reporting and inquiry (Indirect Rates and Audits)
• Monitor tax regulations, ILS compliance with same
• Forecast and monitor cash requirements, report and provide recommendations for improvements
• Provide availability of funds to sustain company operations through banking relationships.
• Forecast and monitor detailed revenue, direct labor, and expenses
• Forecast and monitor budgets for indirect costs centers and service groups
• Monitor and establish accurate, detailed projections for overhead, G&A, and fringe expenses
• Provide detailed analysis (over/under explanations) and recommendations for improvements.

Requirements:  

• B.S. in Accounting or Finance or business related field
• 10 years experience managing financial and accounting functions
• Experience with Regulatory Compliance REQUIRED
• Experience working with Federal Contracts REQUIRED
• Extensive experience working with QuickBooks.
• Knowledge and experience working with indirect rate forecasting, budget development, and cost accounting standards. Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles is a must.
• Flexible with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Basic understanding of cost principles.
• Proficiently in MS Office or similar software with experience working with spreadsheets.
