Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join an established company in the Durham area.  This position will be responsible for inventory accounting, monthly financial close, preparation and review of journal entries, and account reconciliation and analysis. Assist in the preparation and distribution of financial statements.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation and maintenance of process and internal control documentation.
• Processing of payroll.
• Ensure that all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and professional standards.
• Provide assistance to Controller and Director of Finance with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
• Additional responsibilities include research of GAAP and IFRS accounting guidance, accounting related and other special projects as assigned.
• Assist with annual external audit and preparation of assigned audit schedules.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• Minimum four years of accounting experience (public accounting experience with a national/regional firm preferred)
• Previous experience with account reconciliation, general ledger journal entries
• Previous experience with SOX implementation/documentation (J-SOX is a plus)
• Previous experience with cost accounting of inventory in a manufacturing environment.
• Standard costing/purchase price variance analysis a plus
• Previous experience with implementation of a fixed asset system is a plus
• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and exposure to IFRS is a plus
• Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
• CPA or other certification (CMA, CGMA,) preferred
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of mid-level and/or large GL ERP systems required
