Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Patient Benefit Specialist to join a pharmaceutical company in the Cary area.  This position will be responsible for performing the appropriate processes to verify patient eligibility, coordinate benefits, determine patient coverage/responsibility for services, eliminate insurance authorization barriers, ensure prescriptions are received by pharmacies and communicate with patients during their journey.

Responsibilities:

• Complete benefits investigation within time constraints
• Enter all insurance information into the patient’s profile
• Utilize all available resources to obtain insurance coverage information for ordered services
• Communicate with providers regarding patient updates and document in the pharmacy information system
• Communicate, when applicable, with patients regarding their pharmacy benefit coverage and out of pocket responsibilities
• Facilitate prior authorization with insurance companies
• Provide backup assistance to Customer Service by answering inbound calls from providers, clients, patients and pharmacies.
• Coordinates eligibility for copay support within the time constraints
• Enter all communication and documentation in the system
• Communicate with liaison’s regarding patient updates and HCP issues
• Follow-up on applications

Requirements:

• Prefer at least 1+ years of experience working and understanding Insurance Verification/Benefits and prior authorizations
• Knowledge of Medical or pharmaceutical terminology
• Associates degree or higher preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Applications
• Excellent Writing skills
• Excellent Customer Service Skills
