Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for an Item Writer to join a local company in the RTP area.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and secure reading passages and other stimuli of appropriate content, readability level, text complexity, and interest to generate reading and writing test items. Select materials that are free of bias. Work with client review committees to identify usable passages for development.
• Prepare test items for content and bias review by other staff and client review committees. Finalize items for approval of project management and delivery to client.
• Prepare approved items for inclusion in field tests.
• Prepare for and participate in field test item review by client staff and review committees. Record actions of item review committees and present results to Project Manager.
• Prepare materials for and present professional development activities to clients related to test and item development.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in English Language Arts or Literature
• Teaching experience in High School English Language Arts
• Willingness and ability to learn to work in complex computer-based item management software programs
• Assessment experience preferred
