Accentuate Staffing is currently looking for an experienced manufacturing professional to join our client in Moncure, NC in need of a Production Manager. The Production Manager is responsible for Safety, Environmental Compliance, Quality, Production and Cost, reporting directly to the Plant Manager.
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned staff including hiring, development, performance evaluations, etc. to ensure proper execution of all production related activities in a safe and effective manner.
- Manage and continuously develop departmental training programs to maximize plant performance while complying with all site, corporate, local, state and federal regulations.
- Provide strong leadership of production employees in a manner that supports participation in continuous improvement efforts, transparent and open communication and a self-directed team approach.
- Monitor production performance against objectives and identify and enforce counter-measures for performance that is below targeted levels.
- Meet or exceed all goals set between the Plant Manger and the Production Manager Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
- Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
- Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
- Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
- Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Wood Science preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience with the manufacture of MDF using continuous pressing technology is highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning and organizational skills.
- Good leadership skills and demonstrated team player.
- Excellent computer and software skills using basic spreadsheets and word processing.
- Good knowledge in the manufacturing process of composite panels preferred.
