Automation Engineer Level 2 or 3
Accentuate Staffing is working with a growing engineering and manufacturing organization that delivers custom automation and control solutions for complex industrial environments. This senior-level opportunity will influence projects from initial concept through commissioning, with direct ownership of technical quality, schedule, budget, and customer success.
The ideal candidate is an experienced controls professional who can develop electrical designs, program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI platforms, integrate motion and robotic systems, and lead customer-facing installations. Experience with industrial safety, schematics, VFDs, servos, documentation, and multi-project execution will be central to success.
Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical and electromechanical control-system concepts, schematics, safety circuits, and component selections that meet customer requirements and applicable codes.
- Program, test, and commission PLC, HMI, servo, VFD, robotic, and related industrial control solutions from initial development through final acceptance.
- Coordinate in-house build activities, review bills of material, document system performance, and support installation and startup at customer facilities.
- Lead automation projects by managing technical scope, schedule, budget, records, risks, and communication across internal teams and customer stakeholders.
- Diagnose complex controls issues in the field and implement durable solutions across electrical, mechanical, software, networking, and machine-safety interfaces.
- Build productive customer relationships and help develop junior engineers through technical guidance, review, and practical training.
Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, controls engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Eight or more years of related industrial automation or controls experience, including independent project ownership and customer-site support.
- Strong proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI software; Siemens TIA Portal, SCADA, reporting systems, or other controls platforms are beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to create and interpret control schematics; AutoCAD Electrical experience is preferred.
- Experience modifying or programming industrial robots, ideally FANUC, ABB, or KUKA, with working knowledge of machine safety and safety-control implementation.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, organization, and mentoring skills, with the flexibility to balance concurrent projects, travel as required, and learn new technologies independently.
