
Automation Controls Technician
Accentuate Staffing is assisting a well-established manufacturing company who is hiring a Automation Controls Technician to join their team at their food processing plant. This is an excellent direct hire opportunity in a hands-on, industrial environment supporting 24/7 production equipment. This role is working 1st or 3rd shift, Monday through Friday with occasional weekend overtime as needed during peak season.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and automated systems
- Support automation and engineering projects, including equipment upgrades and process improvements
- Program, modify, and troubleshoot control systems, HMIs, instrumentation, and related equipment
- Install, calibrate, and maintain sensors, transmitters, valves, meters, and other process control devices
- Analyze equipment performance and implement solutions to improve reliability and efficiency
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and P&IDs
- Maintain accurate documentation for system changes, repairs, and projects
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to support safe and efficient operations
Requirements:
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, Instrumentation, or related field; equivalent experience considered
- 5+ years of experience troubleshooting and supporting PLC/HMI control systems in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, Studio 5000, Logix 5000, and industrial automation systems
- Working knowledge of instrumentation, process controls, sensors, transmitters, and closed-loop control systems
- Experience with SCADA, Ignition, or similar automation software preferred
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and P&IDs
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
