
Fleet Maintenance Manager
Accentuate Staffing is assisting a well-established site development and homebuilding company in the Triangle area that is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to join their team. This is a direct hire opportunity offering excellent benefits, working day shift Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Lead hands-on diagnostics and mechanical repairs for diesel-powered equipment and trucks.
- Plan and manage all routine service and preventive maintenance to keep the fleet in top working condition.
- Monitor and update equipment schedules, usage, and locations across multiple job sites.
- Partner with field supervisors and project managers to ensure equipment is available when and where it’s needed.
- Maintain accurate service records, maintenance histories, and inspection documentation.
- Ensure all machinery and vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards, including DOT and OSHA compliance.
- Stay on top of emissions regulations, inspections, and certification requirements.
- Supervise and support the in-house diesel mechanic to ensure timely service and repair work.
- Work with outside vendors and dealerships for specialized repairs or warranty services.
- Inspect equipment returning from job sites to identify damage or excessive wear.
- Prepare damage reports and coordinate resolution with insurance providers or internal teams.
- Utilize fleet management software or maintenance tracking tools to streamline operations.
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience managing heavy equipment or vehicle fleets, ideally in construction or grading.
- Strong technical experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and large construction equipment.
- Must have experience reading technical manuals, equipment schematics, and service instructions.
- Thorough understanding of workplace safety standards and transportation regulations.
- Experience using fleet maintenance software or computerized maintenance systems (CMMS) is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus.
